Using raw and local materials together with local techniques, Jiakun Architects designed this museum for Buddhist stone sculpture from Han to Song dynasties (206 B.C. - 1125 A.D.) referred as an “architectural story of man-made stone”. Made of concrete, shale brick, stone, glass and steel, it resulted in sober architecture which, by its shape, colours and textures, creates an accord between the sculptures and the environment of the museum.
