Qingdao a hotspot for domestic tourism in China

According to the Chinese Academy of Tourism’s latest quarterly report on the touristic attractiveness of large Chinese cities, the former German colony of Qingdao in the coastal province of Shandong, has for the first time topped the list of best destinations for Chinese domestic tourism.

Deemed by national tourists as possessing numerous high-quality touristic attractions and a developed service sector, while being easily accessible, Qingdao therefore overtakes Hangzhou and Suzhou, the famous duo commonly entitled “paradise on Earth” in Chinese literature.
