Shenzhen launches the first ”bottom-up” design competition in China
UED Magazine, alongside with Shenzhen Urban Planning and Land Resources Committee, Shenzhen Yantian Government and China Building Centre (CBC), has launched a call for projects on the occasion of the second edition of its “Q City” design competition. This event, located on Shenzhen’s Yantian District, aims at promoting a “bottom-up” urban planning.
The principle of this approach (healing the city as a living body, referring to acupuncture), the great formal liberty of proposal as well as the scale of the project (a whole district) make this competition an unprecedented initiative in China. Companies, architects, designers, urbanists or artists are welcome to participate.
